Castles, the ocean and sleeping in!

I just got back from my trip to see Linz in Victoria, BC yesterday! What a gorgeous place. This was my first trip and I just LOVED every bit about it.

Mom, Linz and I flew in on Thursday evening, such a nice short flight, and then headed out to where Linz lives.

On Friday, we took a tour around her school (OMG!!!!! SO AMAZING!!!) see pics to follow! Who wouldn't want to go to school there? The grounds are amazing and everything is so green- which is a bit of a change from here. I couldnt get over the different varieties of plants they have as well as the gardens. They have Italian Gardens, a Japanese Zen Garden, a rose garden and I am sure there are more.

We then drove to downtown Vic and parked out by the Sea Wall. Which was pretty cool. And then decided to go find Craigdarroch Castle, a fully restored castle in downtown Vic. It was a LONG walk- but totally worth i t! It was so amazing to see history and invision what it would have been like to live there.

We had an amazing supper at a restaurant right on the inner harbour and then drove around for a bit.

Saturday involved the 3 of us driving to Ucluelet (i had to google it for the spelling) and then Tofino. It was quite a different car trip than anything I am used to making. The last 1/3 of the trip was driving on very winding roads. I admit I was a little green. But, again, gorgeous! It would have been nice to stay longer than we did. We were at this adorable bed and breakfast (with REALLY delicious breakfast) that wasnt on the water, but about a block from it. We went out to Long Beach and walked it for a bit.... but I was surprised as to how cold the water was. The sand, though, was so fine and soft.

Sunday, Linz ran a marathon, so we were there for support (and to drive her home after). But she finished with a good time and I must say I am so proud of her! See pic of her crossing the finish line! We then had bit to eat and headed back to Victoria. - Oh- side note: we stopped at a Tim Hortons in .... ok, name as escaped me... and they had "Cold Stone Creamery", which is comparable to Marble Slab.... ummm..... lets start hoping they put some in the Tim's out here!!!!!

Monday, Mom and I had a very early morning which was difficult as I had been able to sleep in the previous 3 morning! I had a wonderful trip, but it was so awesome to see Aubrey and Colin again after 4 days away!
