Dunking

So cute, I had to blog about it!!!!

Aubrey and I have been going to the pool as much as we can now that the weather is nice! And on Friday's visit, with all the moms, Aubrey has realized she is a little FISH! She dunks herself. On purpose. And doesn't even come up sputtering or panicking. She just LOVES the water!

So today Colin and I took her to the pool, which she just loved having Daddy there to swim with her, and she starts dunking herself. And I am getting used to this, but had forgotten to tell Colin, so he was quite surprised when she all the sudden went under the water. I think he was a little worried when he saw her go under, but that changed when she popped right back up, wiping the water from her eyes and grinning!

Anyways, I am off to go work on a page for Aubrey's 2nd year scrapbook! Have a great week coming up everyone, and if I get my page done, I will take a pic so you can see it!

Castles, the ocean and sleeping in!

I just got back from my trip to see Linz in Victoria, BC yesterday! What a gorgeous place. This was my first trip and I just LOVED every bit about it.

Mom, Linz and I flew in on Thursday evening, such a nice short flight, and then headed out to where Linz lives.

On Friday, we took a tour around her school (OMG!!!!! SO AMAZING!!!) see pics to follow! Who wouldn't want to go to school there? The grounds are amazing and everything is so green- which is a bit of a change from here. I couldnt get over the different varieties of plants they have as well as the gardens. They have Italian Gardens, a Japanese Zen Garden, a rose garden and I am sure there are more.

We then drove to downtown Vic and parked out by the Sea Wall. Which was pretty cool. And then decided to go find Craigdarroch Castle, a fully restored castle in downtown Vic. It was a LONG walk- but totally worth i t! It was so amazing to see history and invision what it would have been like to live there.

We had an amazing supper at a restaurant right on the inner harbour and then drove around for a bit.

Saturday involved the 3 of us driving to Ucluelet (i had to google it for the spelling) and then Tofino. It was quite a different car trip than anything I am used to making. The last 1/3 of the trip was driving on very winding roads. I admit I was a little green. But, again, gorgeous! It would have been nice to stay longer than we did. We were at this adorable bed and breakfast (with REALLY delicious breakfast) that wasnt on the water, but about a block from it. We went out to Long Beach and walked it for a bit.... but I was surprised as to how cold the water was. The sand, though, was so fine and soft.

Sunday, Linz ran a marathon, so we were there for support (and to drive her home after). But she finished with a good time and I must say I am so proud of her! See pic of her crossing the finish line! We then had bit to eat and headed back to Victoria. - Oh- side note: we stopped at a Tim Hortons in .... ok, name as escaped me... and they had "Cold Stone Creamery", which is comparable to Marble Slab.... ummm..... lets start hoping they put some in the Tim's out here!!!!!

Monday, Mom and I had a very early morning which was difficult as I had been able to sleep in the previous 3 morning! I had a wonderful trip, but it was so awesome to see Aubrey and Colin again after 4 days away!

Family road trip! ........ and a pretty card!

Colin, Aubrey and I headed to Great Falls monday morning to get away before the rain dried up and to spend some nice family time together...........(oh and to do some shopping!).

I got Aubrey all packed, and thanks to Aunty J, she was able to carry her own bag. This only lasted while we were at home though.

We had such a fun time together! We took Aubrey to a park by the hotel we stayed at, and she LOVED going down the slides and running after the other big kids who were also there. I think Colin had just as much fun as she did! We also were able to go to the pool, though it was a bit too cold for Aubrey (and me!).

Colin and I were a bit nervous as we got to the border, as neither of us had ever gone through on our own before (always with mom and dad!), but we managed! At the US border, the man doing a quick search of the vehicle got a kick out of Aubrey and her one shoe on, one shoe off! And coming back into the country was just as easy too!

All in all it was a fun trip! Especially as I found not 1 but 2 Kathy purses!

A friend of mine came down last Saturday, and even though she didn't get here until 3 in the afternoon, we were still able to get in some awesome scrapbooking time! I was able to get started on Aubrey's 2nd year scrapbook, (jan 2010), and am looking forward to getting the next 4 months done with it! I just have to remember to keep up with taking pictures and jotting everything down!

The following is a card that I made, and then duplicated a ton of times! It is a great go-to card that can easily be added to depending on the occasion. I used basic grey for the card base, and on the base used Vintage Vogue wheel and a glitter concoction that I made. The designer paper is Walk in the Park and kiwi kiss 08 in color. Finished off with a filigree brad and paper clip!

And thats it for today!
